
Hermanus Sightseeing Day Tour
Hermanus was originally called Hermanuspietersfontein, This popular retirement Town is on the southern coast of the Western Cape and is famous for southern right whale watching during the southern winter and spring. The best time to watch the whales is between June and December. These impressive mammals are now protected as they were hunted in nearby Betty's Bay. The Old Harbour Museum is the place to visit as the exhibitions give the history of the whaling industr., The De Wetshuis Photo Museum has the history of Hermanus depicted by T D Ravenscroft.
Hermanus Day Tours
Start with an Early morning Drive to Hermanus Via Gordons Bay pass (Clarence Drive) which is a beautiful coastal route on your way to Hermanus as it hugs the Hottentot Holland Mountains along the False Bay Coast stretching 22km. If you come in the Whale Season (July - Nov) you will hopefully be lucky enough to see some Southern Right Whales along the pass.


Whale Watching Hermanus Sightseeing Day Tour
We can include an optional Boat Based Whale Watching Trip ( Season: June - December ) included with your Hermanus Day Tour if requested. The Boat Based Whale Watching Trip is excluded from the Tour rate. Price will be from R800 per adult and from R380 per child. This will change the Itinirary Slightly. Please let us know if you would like this option.
The Whale Watching Trip is about 2 Hours long.
Whale Wacthing Times available: 9am, 11am, 12pm,2pm, 3pm, 4pm and 5pm

Hermanus Day Tours

Hermanus Day Trip
After we have completed the 22km Clarence Pass we will have the option of visiting the Penguins in Betty's Bay. This is optional as you may have been to see the Penguins at Boulders Beach in Simon's Town. On Arrival to Hermanus we will drive to the top of Rotary Drive which will give you panoramic views of Hermanus in all its glory.
Hermanus Tour
After we have had a look over the panoramic views of Hermanus, South African Adventures will take you down to Onrus Beach for a stroll on the beach or a nice cup of coffee to enjoy this beautiful view as we chill and take this all in.


Hermanus Day Trips
South African Adventures will then drive to the center of Town and we can either do a Walking Whale Tour if its Season (July - Nov) or go on a Whale Watching Boat trip. Click here for more details on the Whale Watching Boat Trip).Whichever one you would prefer. The Southern Right Whales can be seen very close to the Cliff paths sometimes as the Southern Right Whale's use the cliffs for protection for themselves and their calf as the waters are deep along the cliff path.
Hermanus Sightseeing Trip
If it is not Whale Season then a we shall take a walk along the cliff path from town all the way to Grotto Beach where you will see the beautiful views you see in these pictures. At the end of the walk we shall stop at a Restaurant that sits on Grotto Beach for something to eat and much needed refreshments .If you not keen to walk or unable to walk the distance we can drive to all the look out points along the path for you to enjoy the Beautiful views and also finish off at the above restaurant and after make our way back to Cape Town.
