Where two oceans meet and the tides shape a whole way of life.

From dawn surfs at Muizenberg to long swims off Camps Bay, the Atlantic and Indian Oceans don't just border South Africa — they define how locals live. Our ocean experiences are crafted with the people who grew up on these coasts.

The Big 5, up close — and on terms that respect the wild.

South Africa is one of the only places on earth where you can track lions at sunrise and watch Southern Right whales calving by lunch. We partner only with conservation-aligned reserves and skippers — so your once-in-a-lifetime moments leave the landscape better than we found it.

Muizenberg's Surfer's Corner is where generations of Capetonians took their first wave. Long Beach in Kommetjie hosts the locals who chase swell from June to September. We'll match you with the right break, the right board and the right wetsuit.

Real South Africa lives in the small moments — a Cape Malay curry cooked in a private home, a sunset table at a family-owned estate, a sunrise hike with a guide who knows every fynbos species by name. We curate every introduction.

    Great adventures

"Shane is awesome! I booked my Skydiving adventure with South African Adventures. And it was great from the beginning. My request was answered immediately and Shane organized everything. He stayed in contact all the time to make sure everything is perfect for me. I highly recommend them if you want someone to organize everything for you and you can just enjoy your time in and around Cape Town!"

    Amazing Few Days

"Initially booked a whale watching tour with Hendrick and Shane and liked it so much I went on a wine tasting tour and a day trip down to the most southern point of Africa. Shane and Hendrick are amazing guys who really know their stuff. Their priority was making sure I felt at home and was comfortable. Hands down, the best I've used. Thanks both, you're legends."

    Best day trips ever

"My family and I had a great time exploring Hermanus with Shane! He made us discover authentic places and stopped for awesome points of views and to try some food along the way. We had such a great time that we decided to book a wineland day tour and it was a perfect day. The only negative point is that, at the end of the day, you will feel like leaving an old friend behind..."

Plan an unforgettable South African adventure.

South Africa is a country built for the curious traveller. In a single trip you can summit Table Mountain at sunrise, swim beside Cape fur seals in the kelp forests of Hout Bay, sip world-class Pinotage in the Stellenbosch winelands and watch Southern Right whales breach off the Hermanus coast — all without ever leaving the Western Cape. South African Adventures has been designing private guided tours, multi-day itineraries and bucket-list experiences from our home base in Cape Town since 2015.

    Cape Town, the Mother City

Cape Town is consistently voted one of the world's most beautiful cities, and for good reason. Our Cape Peninsula tours weave through Camps Bay, Chapman's Peak Drive, the Cape of Good Hope and Boulders Beach, where you'll meet the resident African penguin colony. Add Table Mountain, the colourful houses of Bo-Kaap and a tasting at a Constantia wine estate for the complete Cape Town day tour.

The Garden Route & Whale Coast

From Cape Town the legendary Garden Route stretches eastward — Hermanus for whale watching, Gansbaai for Great White shark cage diving, then Mossel Bay, Knysna and Plettenberg Bay for forests, lagoons and endless beaches. Our multi-day Garden Route itineraries are fully bespoke and include private transfers, accommodation suggestions and curated activity bookings.

Big 5 safari, without leaving the Cape

You don't need to fly to Kruger to see the Big 5. Aquila Private Game Reserve, just two hours from Cape Town in the malaria-free Karoo, offers full-day safari experiences with lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard sightings. For longer trips, we'll build itineraries that combine the Cape with Kruger National Park, Madikwe and the private reserves of the Sabi Sand.

    Adventure activities for every level

South Africa is a paradise for adrenaline seekers. Tandem skydive over the Cape Peninsula, paraglide off Signal Hill onto Sea Point Beach, abseil 112m down Table Mountain, sea kayak with whales in Walker Bay, surf the gentle rollers of Muizenberg or dive the kelp forests featured in My Octopus Teacher. We curate every operator personally and only work with safety-first, conservation-aligned partners.

Book with a family-run South African operator

Every tour we run is private, hosted personally by our small Cape Town team, and built around your interests, your pace and your travel dates. We never sell you on a packaged itinerary you don't want — we build the trip you should be taking. WhatsApp us anytime. We aim to reply within 24 hours.
